  • Position Summary
    • The Manager of Support Services is an exempt Department Manager responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the Materials Management, Dietary Services, Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. The Manager of Support Services is responsible for the development of programs that address how Support Services needs are reviewed, implemented, and evaluated for all departments requiring these services. Develops and implements the organization-wide plan for Materials Management, Dietary Services, Housekeeping and Laundry programs. Develops the Materials Management, Dietary Services, Housekeeping and Laundry Department goals, objectives, standards of practice, policies and procedures. Develops and monitors the capital and operating budgets for the Departments. Ensures food service needs of patients, staff, and visitors are met; ensures adequate stock of supplies and laundry; and ensures the facility is kept in a clean and sanitary manner to provide medical services to patients.
  • Qualifications
    • Healthcare experience (3 yrs preferred) with knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Moderate math skills including ability to calculate ratios, percentages, and return on investment.

    • Creates and maintains effective working conditions. Promotes a positive working climate for effective management and integrates this into the department.
    • Promotes effective customer and physician relations that contribute to operating plan success.
    • Plans, delivers, and monitors quality services in all areas of responsibility.
    • Ensures all supplies are stored in a manner to protect cleanliness and sterility.
    • Establishes adequate inventory levels, timely restocking of supplies, and conducts annual physical inventory count.
    • Ensures the timely ordering of supplies and services for the organization.
    • Ensures the Value Analysis Committee is kept informed of purchasing incentives, new products and the initiatives of Novation, NPC, NEAH.
    • Ensures that all cleaning is done in a manner to ensure the standards for infection control are met.
    • Ensures the appearance of the facility is maintained at the appropriate standard - floors shiny but not slippery, windows clean, walls clean, entryways and hall clean and uncluttered, carpets free from stains.
    • Schedules trash pickups from departments and ensure proper disposal including checking to ensure areas are kept clear.
    • Assures Linen is properly processed. Soiled linen picked up, laundry is clean and well maintained, Clean Linen is sanitary, in good condition, neatly folded and delivered in adequate supply on a regular basis.
    • Establish, implement and enforce food and nutrition policies and procedures, OSHA standards, and sanitation regulations in cooperation with providers and other Weeks Medical Center departments.
    • Accepts and satisfactorily completes miscellaneous duties as requested and assigned by the President.
